Studio 13 - Elena Yess | Pottery

My work explores the relationship between form, function, and the expressive possibilities of clay. I am drawn to creating everyday objects that are both useful and visually engaging, allowing the beauty of handmade work to become part of daily life. Surface decoration, particularly slip trailing, gives me a way to add movement, texture, and personality while celebrating the tactile nature of the material. I embrace the balance between careful craftsmanship and the small imperfections that reveal the hand of the maker. Through my pottery, I hope to create objects that feel approachable, joyful, and meaningful to use.
