Studio 1 - Bonnie Gulden | Spatial Issues
Our planet is becoming more fragile every day. My inspiration for using rescued materials and found objects in all of my pieces gives me a huge sense of pride. I am during my part for our Earth, retaining our history and helping to save our natural resources. This also challenges me in my design process for I am using only what I have collected over the years and have on hand in my studio. Old souls, new lives.
During my 30 years as a fine finish carpenter and historic home restorer here in our beautiful Hudson Valley, I have collected many treasures in my travels. These old souls would have been discarded, but I envisioned their future lives in my mind. I redesign them and my work transforms these obsolete and outdated relics in a new life in an art and functional art form.
